About ARISMUN

The story behind ARISMUN

Born from resilience, strengthened by a growing school MUN culture and ready for its first large-scale in-person edition.

Our story

A community built across distance

ARIS MUN has been part of the school's wider culture of global engagement for many years. ARIS students have represented the school at local, national and international Model United Nations conferences, gaining experience in diplomacy, public speaking, resolution writing and international collaboration.

In 2020, ARIS took an important step forward by hosting its first ARIS MUN conference, which was virtual, creating a platform for students to experience the conference environment online. Since then, ARIS MUN has continued to evolve, combining conference participation with in-house simulations and opportunities for students to take on leadership roles within the programme.

The journey has taken ARIS delegates beyond Ghana, including participation in international MUN experiences such as the United Ambassador Model United Nations Conference in Geneva. These experiences have challenged students to collaborate with peers from different backgrounds and engage with some of the world's most pressing issues.

2020

Virtual beginnings

Students met across screens to debate, collaborate and stay globally engaged during the pandemic.

2021–25

A culture takes root

Internal simulations and conference participation helped new delegates become confident speakers and leaders.

22-24 October, 2026

A milestone in Accra

ARISMUN welcomes more than 300 delegates to its first in-person edition.

Conference theme

Reimagining Diplomacy in a Fragmented World

Transforming Our Future through Power, Purpose and Partnership

Theme and vision

Power guided by purpose. Progress built through partnership.

ARISMUN seeks to inspire, empower and transform young people by creating a platform where delegates develop confidence, practise diplomacy, engage with global issues and appreciate perspectives different from their own.

Welcome address

A message from the MUN Directors

Dear Delegates, Advisors, and Participating Schools,

Welcome to ARISMUN 2026 International Conference.

As Directors, we are honoured to stand alongside our remarkable student Executive Team as they prepare to host what promises to be our most inspiring conference yet. Every planning meeting, every debate over committee design, and every late afternoon spent refining the delegate experience has reminded us why Model United Nations continues to be one of the most transformative opportunities available to young people. We have witnessed students who once hesitated to speak become confident negotiators, passionate advocates, and compassionate global citizens. Those moments continue to inspire us as educators and mentors.

This year's theme, "Reimagining Diplomacy in a Fragmented World: Transforming our Future through Power, Purpose, and Partnership," reflects the reality of the world you are inheriting. We live in an era marked by geopolitical tensions, climate challenges, technological disruption, humanitarian crises, and increasing polarization. Yet history has consistently shown that lasting progress is achieved not through division, but through courageous dialogue, principled leadership, and meaningful collaboration. Diplomacy remains one of humanity's greatest tools for transforming conflict into cooperation and uncertainty into opportunity.

Our conference itself is a testament to resilience and growth. In 2020, like many institutions around the world, we adapted to the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic by hosting our conference virtually. While that experience demonstrated the determination and adaptability of our MUN community, nothing compares to the energy created when delegates gather face-to-face to debate, negotiate, and build lasting friendships across cultures. This October, we are excited to welcome you back for an unforgettable in-person experience, one filled with engaging committee sessions, thought-provoking discussions, cultural exchange, and memories that will extend far beyond the closing ceremony.

As Directors, we hope this conference does more than strengthen your understanding of international relations. We hope it transforms the way you see leadership. We hope you leave with greater empathy for perspectives different from your own, renewed confidence to speak with conviction and respect, and a deeper appreciation that authentic leadership begins with listening before leading. The resolutions you draft may remain on paper, but the values you develop such as integrity, diplomacy, collaboration, resilience, and service, have the power to shape communities, institutions, and nations.

Together, let us reimagine diplomacy. Together, let us transform our future through power guided by purpose and strengthened by partnership.

We look forward to welcoming you this October and sharing an unforgettable conference with every one of you.
